About Prince of Peace

Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church was established in May of 1979. For two decades our mission has been to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ as a personal Redeemer of all.

Prince of Peace is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.  The WELS traces itself back to German Lutheran immigrants who settled in the Midwest. On May 26, 1850, three pastors met in Granville, WI (just north of Milwaukee), and established what is now called the WELS. The WELS currently consists of 1,240 congregations, approximately 315,000 communicant members and 410,000 baptized members, all united in faith. We have churches in every state of the Union and support missions and missionaries in 33 other countries.

We believe that churches are not institutions that exist for their own benefit, but for growing families of people who support and nurture each other from the word of God.

Therefore, we meet regularly for worship & Bible study, for fellowship activities and community outreach, and every expanding ways.

We Believe

We are a Christian family committed to growing in the knowledge of and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, "The Prince of Peace." It is our hope that your worship with us will lead you to more fully appreciate with thanksgiving the Savior who died and rose for you!

The Wisconsin Evangelical  Lutheran Synod (WELS) is a body of Christians committed to the Bible's teachings on life and salvation. We believe that the Bible is word for word the inspired, inerrant and effective Word of God.

Therefore, we believe:

  • There is one God, who has revealed Himself as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • All people are born in sin and daily commit sins in thought, word and deed.
  • God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, as Savior, who earned for us salvation.
  • By faith in Jesus as our Savior we have the forgiveness of all our sins and the sure hope of eternal life.
  • Our thankful response to God's grace is to love and honor, to serve and obey Him in everything we say, think and do.
